Historic Hoke House Built 1870

-The historic Hoke house was built just after 1870 by a Mr. P.F. Hoke on land purchased from a Mr. Skinner. A townhouse form, this house was built in an Italianate style of the period, though adapted in a vernacular farm house form. Originally four rooms, a later kitchen addition was added to the main house. Though uninhabited for many years, the house is in good shape but must be moved as it now sits in a planned residential development.

The Hoke must be moved from its current location to be saved. The Kentucky Trust is offering this property for sale and will assist a buyer with contacts to develop the project to move the house. Time is of the essence to preserve this historic house for the future. Please contact us today if you have interest in helping preserve this historic place.

Area Information

The area along Wolf Pen Branch road was first settled in the late 1700s as Jefferson county,s third major settlement. The rich farmland and abundant water courses from Harrods Creek and the Ohio river attracted many early farmers, millers and others. The corridor along Wolf Pen is one of the oldest industrial sites in Jefferson County.
