Preservation That Works!

The Kentucky Trust for Historic Preservation, Inc., was founded in 1998 by a dedicated group of volunteer preservationists who recognized that a private, non-profit organization can take actions to save endangered properties in many situations where public agencies and advocacy groups cannot.

We invite you to join us in the rewarding work of saving Kentucky's endangered historic sites and buildings.

The rewards include the joy of saving an endangered building, seeing it restored to its former glory, and working with interesting, like-minded people from community preservation organizations.  You will experience great satisfaction in building and sustaining an effective organization that provides the sense of stewardship that supports and inspires individuals and local groups to preserve local landmarks.

We encourage you to become active with us, as we are results oriented, with an action plan that addresses problems before buildings become endangered.  Operational expenses are kept to a minimum because we do not lobby, nor do we promote regular events.  Therefore, most all of your donations and dues go directly toward the actual preservation of buildings.

Our focus is protecting and preserving endangered landmarks -- and nobody does it better.  The Trust has already saved ten historic buildings, and is looking for other endangered buildings to save, with your participation and support.  We are ready to build partnerships with community groups, such as our ongoing program with Historic Paris - Bourbon County, and dedicated individuals like you to find preservation solutions for endangered landmarks in your county.
